Gabriel has been a member of the Irish Photographic Federation since 1994. He is currently a committee member of the Irish Photographic Federation and also sits on the federations adjudication panel at Licentiate, Associate and Fellowship levels.

Gabriel achieved his ARPS with a Monochrome Portrait panel in 2005. He was also awarded a Fellowship from the Irish Photographic Federation for a travel panel shot in Vietnam in 2008. In 2010 he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society for a panel on old abandoned Irish homesteads. In 2011 he was awarded the Master FIAP by the Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique.

Gabriel enjoys all aspects of photography but his favourite discipline is to photograph people. Landscape and creative photography are always a constant lure, but whatever the subject may be, the printed image is always the final goal. There is no greater satisfaction than to see your final edit printed on your favourite paper and mounted.

Gabriel is a Permajet lecturer and is always available to give advice on printing and paper selection and was awarded a EFIAP Platinum (Excellence FIAP) last 2022 which is an exceptional achievement.
