Janice started taking photos in 2011 with small Nikon camera. She entered a competition on the Irish Heart Foundation's website and won a camera from Barkers Photography store in Cork. She enjoyed the upgrade and bought herself a zoom lens with which to focus on wildlife photography which has always been her main interest.
The image right is titled "All in a Row". "Shelduck ducklings going for a swim in the Boyne Estuary. These ducks are in decline so it's wonderful to see them breeding on the Sanctuary." (Janice, 2021)
Janice joined DPC in 2019 and in her first year, won Novice of the Year. She says it's been a fantastic learning experience, learning so much from all club members who are willing and generous with their time and patience. She has gained a huge amount of technical experience since joining the club.
Janice won a Gold medal for her wildlife images in the IPF North East Region of POTY Ireland 2020.
